Lake Macquarie
Lakeshores Holiday and Short Stay Accommodation has the largest range of homes, cottages and Villas in the Lake Macquarie area, many in or close to the suburb of Caves Beach so, whether it’s a weekend away or a week or more, we have the property to suite your needs and budget. Originally known as The Plains and then The Plains Beach before the 2.5 km beach-front was re-named Caves Beach after the many sea caves at the southern end of the Beach. With it’s own Surf Club overlooking the Beach, Caves Beach is patrolled over the warmer months and is a popular swim- ming and surfing beach for both locals & visitors. There is a Snack Bar, mod- ern change rooms with showers and toilet blocks. There are BBQ facilities as well undercover tables as well as grassed areas beside and in front of the Club for picnics. A local IGA supermarket is also just a couple of minutes walk up the road as well as a Coffee Shop, TakeAway Food Shop and a Gelatto Bar. The cental part of the Beach is ideal for beach fishing, while the northern part, Hams Beach is very popular with the surfboard riders. The Caves Beach Hotel is immediately behind this part of the Beach. The suburb of Swansea, the gateway to Eastern Lake Macquarie is 4 minutes drive from the Beach and has a local shopping centre, McDonalds, the Swanesa Hotel, Chemists, Newsagency, Hair Dressers, Cafes, Restaurants, etc. The Swansea RSL Club sits right on the edge of Swansea Channel with supurb view over the Lake and out through Swansea Heads to the ocean. Lake Macquarie (the largest saltwater lake in the Southern Hemisphere) is within 2 minutes drive and the whole Lake Macquarie area is surrounded by the Ocean, National Parks and the Lake with a backdrop of the Wategan Mountains. The Lake Macquarie area allows for long relaxing days of boating, swimming, fishing or to do jas little as possible or to be as active as you like with bush walk- ing, cycling on the many dedicated cycle paths around the area, jet skiing, Sail Boarding or Wind Kiteing on the Lake. Whatever you decide, endthe day with ocean-fresh fish and chips, a steak on the BBQ or enjoy a fine meal at one of the areas many Resraurants, Cafes, Clubs or Bistros.
